Home News Release of the Project Assessment Draft Report (PADR)

30 April 2026

We’ve released the Project Assessment Draft Report (PADR), a key milestone in the Regulatory Investment Test for Transmission (RIT‑T) process for the NTx.

The PADR sets out the first stage of the formal economic assessment to determine whether the project is in the long‑term interests of electricity consumers. Its release marks the start of a six‑week public consultation period.

We welcome feedback from communities, landholders and stakeholders to help inform the next steps in the project’s assessment. In accordance with the requirements set out by the NER and AER, submissions to the PADR consultation should relate to the RIT-T’s decision-making framework (ie economic net benefit or reliability compliance).  Meanwhile feedback related to other aspects of the project, such as environmental concerns, social impacts and location of the transmission line, can be provided via our community engagement process detailed in the Your Input section.

View the PADR and find out how to make a submission here.
